Our food philosophy evolved over years we spent cooking in Europe. We realized that becoming a gourmet restaurant doesn’t always mean starched tablecloths & silver service. You need a product that is delicious and clever, our goal every time we’re in front of a stove. We only put forth dishes that we think is delicious. Our food is unique and interesting, but still grounded in tradition. We spent many years in England where we worked with some great chefs & restauranteurs and we know that they would be proud of us today...
From a very young age Marisa’s favorite place to be was her grandmother’s kitchen watching her turn simple ingredients into masterpieces. Pretty soon she fell in love with all things sweet. She studied at the International Hotel School and started turning a life-long passion into a full-time career.
For Matt food is not only a passion, but also a creative platform & a place to have fun. He grew up in Jhb and studied at Prue Leiths Chefs Academy. He loves the industry because it’s possibilities are endless. Matt is inspired by the fact that you never stop learning & smiles on customer’s faces is something special for him.
Tawanda loves working with people. He is professionally trained and enjoys making sure all patrons are comfortable. He strives to do everything in his ability to make his customers’ time at Salt spectacular.
